MechanizedLife has a couple of interesting gadgets: a HUD that talks to Google Calendar, and a wall screen that receives RSS feeds.

MikeG1 Schumann blogged this earlier, but thought I would too, as it looks very cool. In-world calendar system reports events from a Google calendar through chat, but the standalone units themselves look pretty nice and the demo was simple to use. Looks like setup is done through a website. I would buy one in a second if it didn't cost L$1851 more than I have right now :-) I wish the PixelTrix calendar did Google calendar... but then, I wish *everything* did Google calendar. Also a nice RSS Reader here, I assume using TeXML/SMIL as its in the Quicktime feed, but not sure. No mention of needing to set up scripts of any sort which is nice for those who can't or don't know how to.
