Ksso Yamauba of SL-Messenger fame dropped by my house. I have been loving his Messenger gadget, so I am eager to hear what he has to say. Of course now he is lagged so I don't yet know the reason for his visit. Gotta love SL.

Lorac here is one of the property managers on Horus. I've asked her to join my adjacent parcels so that I don't have so much hassle when setting media URLs and such. I like that she calls me baby. :)

I can't get Kosso's Twitterscreen to work properly on group land. The new web-on-a-prim feature in the 1.19.1 release candidate viewer provides an easy, albiet half-assed fallback. I'd rather be able to assign an arbitrary URL to any prim

Preliminary test of my update servers went well. Next I will confirm that the servers can correctly differentiate between the beta and release versions of my product. That will have to wait for another time, because sleep calls to me.

One of the things I enjoy about second life is that I can run into random people from other countries while sitting on my own couch on a random, lazy Sunday afternoon. This guy is a retired artist. He's been in SL for about a week and is just exploring.

Somebody I know through IRC mentioned that her husband is an SL-er. I pasted the SLURL to my home into the channel, and next thing I knew there was a tentacled beast at my door. Zen here has been in Second LIfe since mid-2005 and has seen quite a few changes. He also showed off a lot of badass avatars.

I had to enlist Lupercal's help in testing my latest changes to the SL/IRC chat relay. The server side code can now happily handle multiple avatars using the service at the same time. There is still much to be done before the relay is saleable, but this is a Great Leap Forward, as they say.

I'm running the Windlight First Look viewer since it reportedly fixes a graphics performance issue on newer MaBook Pro models. Just for grins I cranked the graphics settings up to "ultra." Performance became laggy, but I must say the sky looks great. The clouds you see behind me are actually moving and changing much like RL clouds. Impressive. Alas, this release still does not fix VWR-1749 which actually crashes my Pro, but LL seems to be hinting that MacOS 10.5.2 will fix that. I sure hope so. I've taken to keeping my other MacBook close at hand with the SL client already fired up, in anticipation of when the 17" Pro crashes.
