My super-duper top secret game is finally ready to go public. Banana Stein (who reported on it earlier), asked me to come up with a game concept. I came up with three ideas (Apple Sauce, Full Service, and Toe Jam) that were not quite the norm compared to most games on the Second Life grid. He came back with some changes to the Apple Sauce game and renamed it to "Data Sort" and told me it was for Cisco. Centered around the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Router, players hunt for data packets and bring them to the router to be sorted. The game is about to get the final review tomorrow witht he Cisco folks before going live.

Space Llama Razzap Snookums
I've noticed one of the neighbors here has started to sport a llama avatar. The difference from other four legged avatars in Second Life is that Razzap is an alien. To go along with his alienistic style, his llama is green. He also sports a hip rocket pack on his back to assist in flying. The funniest part of this guy is that he can spit just like a llama. He gets everyone running in good humor when people start to make comments asking if he can spit just like a llama. He has antennas behind his ears so he can talk with other space llamas.

Shantu Selene plays some good ol' country
Shantu came back to perform at Los Arboles as well. He sings us some great country songs with his guitar. During his performance, the Relay for Life of Second Life donation kiosk went past the 10,000 L$ milestone. This is a really exciting night and every performer is just amazing.

Rain Vieria gives an astounding performance
Every musician is unique. Los Arboles Open Mic Night lines up a lot of musicians in a two hour period. Different artists come every week and you walk away culturally enlightened. Rain Vieria is up for his twenty minute spot playing a guitar. His voice just carries you away. Seriously. Rain uses some special effects to promote his voice to make the ladies melt. I asked Rich Desoto, and he suggests that Rain uses filters such as EQ, reverb, and some compression. It is a very unique style.

Joaquin Gustav plays on his Spanish Guitar
Joaquin Gustav played at Los Arboles Amphitheater for Open Mic Night to help benefit the Relay for Life of Second Life. Rich Desoto says that Joaquin Gustav inspired him to add a section of spanish guitar on one of his new tunes. The music has a romantic and soft melody to it. It makes you enjoy the peaceful things in life, and stops your mind from rushing about.

Well actually its Rich Desoto/Palmer playing with his band The Fries live from Centerville Ohio. Gomem and Sierra can be seen dancing the night away, and having a great time at La Desoto Casa Bonita.

Debugging across sims
Keiko Rau and I run accross different versions of sims to troubleshoot where bugs lie. It is starting to appear that the llEscapeURL method may have changed a bit. We are still digging into the issue of why scripts work in one server, and not the other. More to come ...

Rain Vieria
Performing now at Los Arboles open mic. Completely wow-ing this crowd. Appears to be kinda new to the SL Music scene. He is great. Worth it to look him up to find where he can be heard.

A Wintery Weekend
This past weekend it was a wintery one, in my First Life, in Southern New England (CT, USA) we got hit with a nice Nor'easter storm plenty of ice, sleet and snow which didn't make for easy shoveling real heavy stuff, at least here in my Second Life we don't shovel and when we want snow we just change the ground textures and such, then when we want it to be gone a few clicks of the mouse and wham, snow is history. I wish we could do that in First Life. But back to the shoveling I saw this elderly couple across the street from me having a hard time shoveling so I couldn't just sit there I had to help them out, they're like in their 80s and shouldn't be shoveling such heavy snow.

What In The World?
One of the things of Second Life, I always did enjoy is seeing what other people create, I'm way up high around 400+ meters in the air looking at a friends creativity workshop, this is where he builds to not be bothered. But what the heck is he making? It's interesting I can say that much for it. A great place in Second Life to see things such as this is the sandboxes, those are islands that people can just let loose whats inside their minds, and believe me they do as the whole island looks like something out of the looking glass.

Camera & Movement Controls
I had been talking to a Razzap Snookums about helping new residents to second life. I've been having some difficulty helping a few new people find there way around with movment and camera controls. Moving your avatar around is the fundamental basics behind just about any virtual world. Some people who have come to Second Life have never experienced a 3D environment before and find it confusing in general. Razzap reminded me of the Camera and Movement HUD controls. I had used these myself when I first started my Second Life and forgotten all about them. You can find these controls under your view menu and click on the arrows to move your avatar or the camera position.

Open Mike Night
Every Monday night, the Los Arbolos sim hosts an open mic night. Just about anyone can come up on the stage and sign there own tunes for everyone else to listen and dance to. There is a wide mix between amatures, hobbiests, and professionals. Along with the musical guests, today is Crap Mariner's first Rez Day. Most people here know who Crap Mariner is and have all come out to show some extra support and celebration. Besides hosting Edloe Island, Crap is also a radio celebrity from time to time. He's involved with podcasting, all things technical and matzo.

Relaxing
I've had a tough night and a scattered day. I'd spend some time in Second Life today, but I can't keep my eyes open any longer. At least I found a nice view before I go to sleep.
