Syd Loon RE: Strange Black Rings (windlight issue?) [by Syd Loon]

I have found it works to just adjust the sky detail until they disappear..and this is not as drastic, and seems to work fine. I have a Nvidia 7600 GS. Move the slider bar really slowly until you find a place that is decent detail for your card and that also doesn't display the rings.

I have some more graphics tweaks at this site as well, http:///www.remixreality.net/secondlife

Hope that helps.

Thad Maertens RE: Strange Black Rings (windlight issue?) [by Syd Loon]

I have same prob. On Win XP machine, nVidia 7600GT card. Deselecting "atmospheric shaders" is a drastic, but guaranteed way to fix the black bands. I just tried enabling atmospheric shaders, and adjusting the Sky settings under Graphics. Seems to be working fine. thanks for the tip from Aimee!

<sl:simname>Duvillier</sl:simname><sl:regionX>235</sl:regionX><sl:regionY>30</sl:regionY><sl:regionZ>549</sl:regionZ><sl:globalX>1026</sl:globalX><sl:globalY>1131</sl:globalY><sl:globalZ>549</sl:globalZ><sl:avatar>Syd Loon</sl:avatar>

Syd Loon RE: Strange Black Rings (windlight issue?) [by Syd Loon]

yes, this is very strange. I only have a problem when I have my settings on the highest quality, which my card can barely do as it is. I posted more information, here (http://remixreality.net/secondlife/?p=10) after doing some research hope it helps, if your having the same problems.

Thanks for the tip Aimee =]
